Yet another man shot and killed at the same Sandy Boulevard motel

A man died on November 20, after shots rang were reported in the parking lot of the Quality Inn hotel, just north of NE Sandy Boulevard on 82nd Avenue of Roses, at Skidmore Street.

Then, early Wednesday morning, December 4 – at the same motel, and in the same parking lot – a shooter killed another man. There is no indication whether or not the two incidents might have been related.

Portland Police Bureau (PPB) North Precinct officers were dispatched to this “Shooting-with-Weapon” call at 5:15 a.m. after reports came in of a person having been shot.

“Arriving officers found a male victim, who died at the scene,” PPB Public Information Officer Sgt. Kevin Allen told reporters. “The suspect or suspects fled the scene prior to police arrival.”

Soon, a dozen officers, detectives, and investigators were at the scene.

Sgt. Allen did not elaborate, other than to say that PPB Homicide Unit detectives responded to investigate.
