Officials still haven’t said what they think led to suspects firing guns in a room at the Parkrose neighborhood Horseshoe Inn Motel at 11324 NE Sandy Boulevard, late on Thursday night, February 5.
When Portland Police Bureau (PPB) North Precinct officers – who were dispatched at 10:58 p.m. – arrived at the scene, they were directed to an adult male and female inside a room suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were taken by ambulance to a local hospital with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.

PPB investigators are called to this wayside motel to investigate a shooting.
Officers shut down NE Sandy Boulevard, secured the scene, collected evidence, and developed information on the suspects. The PPB’s Enhanced Community Safety Team were dispatched to the shooting, as well as Forensic Evidence Division workers to assist with the investigation.
As well as the room itself, investigators appeared to be focused on a blue pickup truck parked at the motel.
During a search of the surrounding area, officers detained two possible suspects ten blocks away from the crime scene, as well as two additional people near the motel. Ultimately, three individuals were arrested and taken to the Multnomah County Detention Center (MCDC).

Residents of the motel saunter in the courtyard as the shooting investigation is underway.
Three suspects arrested
Officers arrested 43-year-old Aaron Taymon Gee of Portland, who was booked into the MCDC on February 6 at 7:44 a.m. – initially on charges of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree (two counts), Assault in the First Degree, Assault in the Second Degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm. At his arraignment, Gee learned he would face a total of 13 Felony charges, plus a Felony charge of Parole Violation. Currently, Gee is being held without bail behind bars in the MCDC.
Also arrested was 35-year-old Joseph Eugene Allen of Portland; he was booked into the MCDC on February 6 at 5:484 a.m. on an outstanding warrant. Allen is currently in custody at the MCDC in lieu of $10,000 bail on a “County Hold”.
And, 29-year-old Morgan Sterling Bryden was booked into the MCDC on February 6th at 3:34 a.m. Initially, bail set at $20,000 for her – but she was released that same day. Release Reason: Into the Custody of Washington County, where she was also wanted.
