Now in its third year, the Brentwood-Darlington Winter Market grew so much this year that it overflowed the Brentwood-Darlington Community Center itself, while welcoming makers, crafters, food creators – and shoppers – on November 22.
“Indeed, the market has grown so large, it’s spilled outside – with vendors under canopies,” remarked co-creator Alli Gannett.

Having many quality vendors brings lots of shoppers to this neighborhood-focused Holiday Market.

Nearby neighbor Nancy Yang helps her dad, Huai Yang, sell his original art. “No two are the same,” she says.
Every vendor was from Southeast Portland; most of them live and work in the Brentwood- Darlington neighborhood, we learned.
“We have more than 30 vendors, including seven kids vending their own items; and in the first two hours, more than 150 people came through,” Gannett told East Portland News.

A local author of many genres – today selling time travel, romance, and historical mystery titles – it’s Tag Gregory of Tag Gregory Writes.
“I attribute this success to our community,” observed Gannett. “The success of the previous Winter and Summer markets has helped the community embrace these ‘very local’ events.”

Welcoming shoppers are Winter Market co-founders Alli Gannett is Emilie Wright.
Co-founder Emilie Wright chimed in, “I think people are really wanting to come together and support their neighbors, especially now; and this has increased the number of vendors who want to participate – which, in turn, increases the number of shoppers who come through.”

The Zeigler family kids are supporting their home-schooled education – and learning how to talk with adults they don’t know – as they present the products they made at their house, “just down the street”.
With the success of the latest market, Gannett and Wright agreed that their Summer Market will be back as well in 2026, and will be “bigger and better than ever”.
