A usually quiet event at the 7-Eleven store at 11220 SE Powell Boulevard became more chaotic after midnight, early on Thursday morning, September 26 – a man came in and held up the store, while brandishing a knife.
Responding Portland Police Bureau (PPB) East Precinct officers, who were dispatched to the scene at 12:29 a.m., learned details of the armed robbery from the clerk.
Police units swarm streets near SE Powell Boulevard and SE 112th Avenue as officers look for the armed bandit.
“Officers located the suspect nearby, and a foot pursuit commenced,” said a PPB spokesperson. “The suspect was caught and arrested; there were no injuries reported related to this incident.”
A knife was recovered that was believed to have been involved in the robbery. PPB Robbery Division detectives handled the ensuing investigation.
