Two people were injured Sunday night – one critically – after gunfire erupted along NE Killingsworth Street near 65th Avenue, drawing a major police response to the Cully neighborhood.
On May 3, at 8:26 p.m., Portland Police Bureau (PPB) North Precinct officers were dispatched to investigate reports of gunshots in that area. When officers arrived, they found an adult man and an adult woman who had been shot.

An ambulance prepares to take one of the wounded to a hospital.
Paramedics treated both victims at the scene and took them to a local hospital. Police reported that the man’s injuries were life-threatening, and the woman also required hospital care.
The PPB Detective Division’s Homicide Unit responded to investigate. According to police, there were no suspects spotted at the time of the initial response, and there have not yet been any arrests.
