Gun-toting teen trio caught on Stark Street

Police say they don’t know the what these youths planned to do with the weapons when caught in the Centennial neighborhood, but they’re now off the street …

Police close in and stop a vehicle in outer East Portland, in which they believe gang members – possibly with guns – are traveling.

Members of the Portland Police Bureau (PPB) Gang Enforcement Team (GET) are always on the lookout for criminal behaviors, and for those who commit crimes.

Their diligence paid off on December 9, when PPB East Precinct officers contacted the GET with concerns about gang activity and possible weapons possession at an apartment complex in the area of SE 160th Avenue and Stark Street.

After finding guns, officers arrest three of the five youths who were in the car.

“At 9:46 p.m. that evening, GET officers stopped a vehicle leaving the complex, and arrested three of the five occupants, recovering three firearms from inside the vehicle,” said PPB Public Information Officer Sgt. Pete Simpson.

After turning the other two loose, GET officers took the three suspects in for booking.

Charged both with firearm and probation violation is 18-year-old Marcus R. Rudolph.

18-year-old Marcus R. Rudolph was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center (MCDC) at 11:25 p.m. and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Possession of a Loaded Firearm.

At his arraignment the following day, Rudolph was ordered to be held for probation violation, and he remains in custody at Inverness Jail.

After appearing in court on firearms charges, 19-year-old Virgil L. Adams is free on bail.

Charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Loaded Firearm, and Interfering with a Peace Officer – causing him to be booked into MCDC at 11:25 p.m. that evening – was 19-year-old Virgil L. Adams.

At his arraignment, Adams made bail, and was released from custody.

Because he’s a minor, no booking information or photo is available for 16-year-old Geavauntae Sherman, who was booked into MCDC that evening – charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Possession of a Loaded Firearm.

Following his arraignment, Sherman was lodged in the Donald E. Long Juvenile Detention Home for probation violation.
