Week #223 Shooting Report | INCLUDES INVESTIGATION VIDEO | Officials aren’t saying much about this outer East Portland shooting, but it took place near where so many others have taken place in the past …
Not long after this shooting occurs in Argay Terrace, arriving officers have already placed yellow markers, showing the location of evidence.

It must be “shooting season” – with Portland Police Bureau (PPB) officers and detectives being dispatched to more than a dozen “Shooting-with-Weapon” calls across Portland; and double that number of other dispatches for “Shots Fired” calls.
In addition to the outer East Portland shooting in Argay Terrace on Thursday, September 26, there was a PPB-involved shooting in inner Northeast Portland – as well as another injury shooting downtown, outside the area of our news coverage.

Man wounded in yet another Argay Terrace shooting
Officers look for additional evidence, after this outer East Portland shooting that took place in a familiar part of Argay Terrace.
Over the last couple of years, the Argay Terrace neighborhood – specifically, between NE Prescott Drive at Sandy Boulevard, and NE 129th at 131st Place – has been the bullseye for numerous shootings.
On Thursday afternoon, September 26, shots were heard in the parking lot of a strip mall parking lot on east side of NE 131st Place, between Sandy Boulevard and Prescott Drive.
Not a lot of investigating was taking place as we were photographing, but you’ll see lots of evidence markers showing the location of spent bullet shells – as well as other evidence – in this exclusive video:
At first, only four PPB North Precinct officers were dispatched to this “Shooting” call at 3:43 p.m.
The shooter must have been just spraying bullets around, for the shells to land underneath the front of this truck.
First arriving officers found abundant “evidence of shots fired” in the parking lot. Witnesses told them that a wounded man made his way from the parking lot westward, across NE 131st Place, and along the driveway into the Darrin’s Place apartment complex.
So within 30 minutes as many as 13 officers and Enhanced Community Safety Team (ECST) investigators had arrived at the scene; two patrol cars were parked in the apartment complex’s driveway.
These officers appear to be canvassing the parking lot, looking for additional evidence.
Other officers had located and placed yellow evidence markers showing where they’d found at least 15 spent bullet shell casings across in the parking lot.
“The victim, an adult male, was found in an apartment suffering a gunshot wound,” PPB Public Information Officer Sergeant Kevin Allen told East Portland News.
This ECST officer has stopped to check with the hospital on the health of the person wounded during the shooting.
“The shooting victim was transported to the hospital by ambulance, with an injury that is not believed to be life-threatening,” Sergeant Allen informed. “ECST detectives are still investigating the incident, so details about what led up to the shooting can not yet be released.”
No immediate arrests were made, but the investigation is still active.
