Here’s what happens when a driver doesn’t head the red traffic control signal at this busy Lents neighborhood intersection …

Witnesses, and some of those involved in this motor vehicle accident, vehemently disagreed about which driver was at fault in a side-impact collision that occurred about 8:45 p.m. on August 18.
Clearly, one of the drivers had run a red traffic light, at the intersection of the I-205 northbound Foster Road Exit and SE Woodstock Boulevard.
Due to the inertia of the impact, both vehicles had spun around 90-degrees.
Both vehicles sit where they came to rest, after spinning around from this accident.
A black VW Jetta was eastbound on the SE Woodstock Boulevard couplet, and a Nissan Pathfinder SUV was coming off the freeway ramp when they collided in the intersection.
The firefighter/paramedics with Portland Fire & Rescue Lents Station 11 responded to the crash to help extricate and evaluate the victims.
-3 The impact of the crash caves in the passenger’s side of the VW.
Two individuals were transported to local hospitals as a result of the crash; other occupants who stayed at the intersection argued about who was at fault.
Apparently, the injuries weren’t severe; the Portland Police Bureau Traffic Division treated the wreck as an ordinary accident, with no citations issues; and officers assisted the drivers in the exchange of information.
