This crash on Southeast Division Street that occurred just before 9:00 p.m. on March 28 didn’t involve a pedestrian – but two cars smashed together, nearly head-on, in front of the Pink Feather Bar and Grill at 14154 SE Division Street.
“The gold car came whipping out of the Pink Feather’s parking lot and into the street, like there was no traffic around at all,” said witness Judy Gaines.
“The gold, four-door Saturn came out of the bar’s driveway quickly, and turned west,” Gaines told East Portland News. “She hit the purple car head on!”

The Engine 7 crew of the Portland Fire & Rescue Mill Park Station responded, as well as did an ambulance. The emergency first responders observed that the vehicles’ safety airbags deployed during the collision.
“The ambulance took away one of the people from the purple car,” Gaines said. “And, the way the other driver was going, I suspect she’d been drinking in the bar.”
This wrecked Saturn is towed from the scene.
Portland Police Bureau East Precinct officers responded to the crash, as did a Traffic Division motorcycle officer. After talking with the driver who the witness blamed for the crash, the driver left the scene, but not in police custody.
This accident remains under investigation and an arrest or citation may yet be issued.
