It wasn’t a robbery that Portland Police Bureau (PPB) officers were called to investigate, on August 29 at 2:28 a.m., but instead, shots being fired in the parking lot of a Plaid Pantry store at 11150 SE Division Street.
“Officers located evidence of gunfire,” confirmed PPB Public Information Officer Sergeant Chris Burley.
Officers fan out through the neighborhood, looking for the shooter – or a victim.
During the investigation, officers learned from a witness that a man, standing in the Plaid Pantry parking lot, had fired multiple rounds at an occupied vehicle that was parked in the same parking lot, revealed Burley.
“The victim’s vehicle, its occupants, and the suspected shooter, all left the area before officers arrived,” Burley reported. “Officers searched the surrounding neighborhood and area hospitals, but were unable to locate any possible victims or the suspect.”
Gang Enforcement Team officers investigate this shooting.
Based on information learned at the scene, the Gang Enforcement Team responded to the location and took over the investigation, Burley said.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call 503-823-4106 or email information to gangs@portlandoregon.gov.
