As the “atmospheric river” was raining in outer East Portland on June 2nd, a commotion led to violence in the Lents neighborhood. It happened on a typically-quiet residential street, on the upper slope of Mt. Scott.
Several Portland Police Bureau (PPB) East Precinct officers were dispatched to 71236 SE Terrace Trails Drive at 12:04 p.m. for a “Stabbing-with Weapon” call.
Soon, five officers were at the scene at what turned out to be a nicely-maintained rental house.
The contents of a woman’s purse, a tape measure, a broken-off rear-view mirror, and kids’ toys lie in the driveway where police say the stabbing took place.
In the driveway, next to the passenger’s-side of a Chevrolet Malibu, were a purse, credit cards, an identification card on a ribbon, and an air freshener – still attached to a broken-off rear-view mirror.
There were still three officers at the scene over four hours later that afternoon.
What led up this confrontation is still under investigation.
“This incident was an altercation between two people, who were known to each other,” PPB Public Information Manager Mike Benner told East Portland News. “The injuries are minor; an adult woman was taken into custody.”
The investigation is continuing. If you have information about this case, please e-mail crimetips@police.portlandoregon.gov and reference Case No. 24-135690.
