When most neighbors in the Argay Terrace neighborhood were making their first cup of coffee of the day, a teenager was struck and killed on a residential street early on Sunday, May 23.

Dispatched at 6:30 a.m., Portland Police Bureau (PPB) North Precinct officers were called to the 14300 block of NE Milton Street. Because it forms a closed loop with Beech Street, off NE 145th Avenue, neighbors told East Portland News there is virtually no “pass through” traffic in this area.

Members of the PPB Traffic Division Major Crash Team come to investigate.

Arriving officers found a dead teenage boy; and called out the PPB Traffic Division Major Crash Team to investigate.

After the preliminary investigation, PPB Homicide Division detectives were also dispatched when officers “came upon some suspicious circumstances,” as a Bureau official put it.

It wasn’t a mere “accident” officials say; this teen, 17-year-old Sergio Hunt, died of “homicidal violence” on that residential street.

The Oregon State Medical Examiner identified the deceased as 17-year-old Sergio Hunt. “The Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy and determined that the victim, 17-year-old Sergio Hunt, died as a result of homicidal violence,” the PPB official said.
