Powellhurst-Gilbert volunteer Lockwood dies

Those who knew, and volunteered with outer East Portland neighbor Brian Lockwood are invited to contribute to his online memorial page …

Even though it was always hot during the Powellhurst-Gilbert Neighborhood Association National Night Out celebration in August, as it was when this photo was taken in 2014, Brian Lockwood always stepped up to grill hot dogs, along with another long time volunteer, Lyle Boisen. Back when the City of Portland supported “National Night Out” celebrations put on by neighborhoods, one of the events attracting large, diverse attendees were those put on by the Powellhurst-Gilbert Neighborhood Association.

And, one of the volunteers who showed up, year after year to help out was Brian Lockwood.

East Portland News was notified by his fiancée Angela Marie Pyle this week that 50-years-old passed away in November of 2019.

“There is an online memorial for Brian, an outer East Portland neighbor, please let people know,” Pyle wrote.
