Shots rang out in a cul-de-sac just south of SE Holgate Boulevard on the evening of June 3 – leaving a man with what officials call “multiple gunshot wounds”.
Portland Police Bureau (PPB) East Precinct officers were first called to the area near SE 118th Avenue and Holgate Boulevard, where they found the man bleeding from his wounds.
“Officers applied tourniquets and provided medical care until emergency medical technicians arrived and transported the victim by ambulance to a Portland hospital,” said PPB Public Information Officer Sgt. Pete Simpson.
Inside an AMR ambulance, paramedics prepare the wounded man for transportation to a hospital.
Officers located a crime scene nearby at SE 114th Avenue and Nicholas Court, a cul-de-sac that runs west from SE 115th Avenue.
“The victim’s injuries do not appear to be life-threatening, and the shooting does not appear to be gang-related,” Simpson said.
“At this point in the investigation there is little suspect information,” added Simpson. Anyone with information should call the Police Non-Emergency Line at 503-823-3333.
