Parkrose School District surprises with major staff changes

Starting in 2003, Roy Reynolds was named Principal of Parkrose High School by then Parkrose School District Superintendent Michael Taylor.

But, according to an announcement dispatched on May 6 – sent by Lisa Jones, Administrative Assistant at Parkrose High School, and confirmed by the current Superintendent of Parkrose Schools Dr. Karen Fischer Gray, on May 7 – Reynolds has been “reassigned”.

The message read:

Parkrose School District is undergoing changes.

One of these changes is a shift in leadership beginning May 11, 2009 and will continue into the next school year. At Parkrose High School, we have a new principal.  Ms. Ana Gonzalez, Principal from Parkrose Middle School is our new Principal.

Mr. Roy Reynolds will be the new Assistant Principal at Parkrose Middle School. Ms. Molly Davies will be the new Principal at Parkrose Middle School.

Our assistant principals, Ms. Michelle Markle, Ms. Kathy Scott, and Ms. Helen Ying will remain the same.

When we asked Dr. Gray to comment on the statement, she stated, “These changes have come from our desire to continue to provide our students and the school district stable and consistent leadership. We value our fine administrators, and wish them well in their new roles”.
