A blaze that ignited inside a Parkrose commercial building, near the northwest corner of the intersection of NE 102nd Avenue and Wygant Street early on January 9, could have been worse, say Portland Fire & Rescue (PF&R) officials. But arson is bad enough.

At 6:07 a.m. that morning PF&R firefighters found flames in a hallway of the building – then contained them to that area, and quickly extinguished them.

Although PP&R officials had reported that the fire was at the offices of an attorney, public records list the business occupants as Advanced Dental Solutions LLC and Advanced Chirocare & Massage.

Later that morning PF&R officials reported, “The business is an attorney’s office; investigators are not confirming what was on fire in the hallway. Damage is limited to the one hole in hallway floor. There was no extension to nearby businesses.”

No one was injured in the fire, officials said.

The report added, “Fire Investigators at the scene are calling this fire an arson, they would like anyone from the public that has information about this fire to call 503-823-INFO (4636)”.
