Over the years, Rossi Farms has hosted a “movie night”, and other events, for the Parkrose Neighborhood Association (PNA) residents.
This year, the morning of August 12, Parkrose neighbors were invited to come enjoy a free hot breakfast in the Rossi barn.
At the grill is PNA Vice Chair Douglas Armstrong, with Chair Annette Stanhope.
“At this summertime community event, providing a free brunch for our neighbors, it’s an opportunity for people to come out, say hello, and get to know each other,” smiled PNA Chair Annette Stanhope.
“By getting neighbors together, the PNA establishes closer ties to the community we serve, which in turn helps neighbors take pride in where they live, and perhaps consider becoming invested in helping their community continue to improve,” Stanhope told East Portland News.
Taking a break from hosting the Parkrose Neighborhood Country Breakfast are Gabrielle Rossi and her dad, Joe Rossi.
“At least once a year I like to hold a community event, just for our neighbors,” said Joe Rossi. “It’s so good to see people enjoying themselves as they get together!”
Guests feasted on a healthy pancake breakfast which included local strawberries and blueberries as well as MorningStar Farms® Original Sausage Patties, all prepared by community volunteers – some of them professional chefs and cooks, Rossi pointed out.
Apparently gleeful over the toothsome pancake breakfast are guests Jade Vittum and Patrick Campbell.
“We’re grateful to the Rossi family, who donated their facility, procured all the food, and set it up; this is a most generous donation on their part,” acknowledged Stanhope.
