The 2019 regular season for the Montavilla Farmers Market (MFM) came to a close on October 27.
Since the year it first opened, the MFM has had loyal customers, who have enjoyed shopping with regularly-returning vendors offering fresh produce and prepared foods.

“Our market this year was fantastic, really joyful!” described its new Market Manager, and Market Development Coordinator for two years, Alison DeLancy.
“We’ve had so many wonderful customers to come back almost every week, shopping among vendors who bring in absolutely fabulous food,” Alison DeLancy told East Portland News.
It was also a successful year for the children’s program and for guests offering cooking demonstrations, all accompanied by live music every week, she said: “So many happy components make it a wonderful market.”
Although the numbers of shoppers tend to drop off after Labor Day, “Our average customer count is about 3,000 a market – a 30% increase in shoppers this year, visiting a cumulative total of 63 vendors over the season,” enumerated DeLancy.

“Winter Stock-up Markets” return
“Although our weekly markets are over, we’ll have ‘Stock-up’ markets on the fourth Sundays of November and December, as well as January and February 2020, held from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.,” DeLancy said.
