After a disagreement turned more violent as two men fought, on Wednesday afternoon, September 20, Portland Police Bureau (PPB) East Precinct officers were sent to the address along SE 122nd Avenue near Kelly Street.

Eventually, it added up to seven PPB cruisers at that location to sort out what had taken place.

“There was a fight that involved two adult males,” confirmed PPB Public Information Officer Sergeant Kevin Allen. “One of the men suffered a stab wound; he was transported to the hospital by ambulance and treated. At the hospital, the injured man was found not to have life-threatening injuries,”

An ambulance stands ready to take a man with a stab wound to a hospital.

The other involved man remained at the scene of the incident and was detained, Sergeant Allen added.

An officer stands by as the investigation continues.

“Due to the men’s familial relationship, PPB Special Victims Unit detectives interviewed the one who was detained,” Sergeant Allen told East Portland News. “After the interview, that man was released without charges. However, this case is still under investigation.”
