On November 14, shoppers went from stand to stand, buying up fresh late-season vegetables, apples from Hood River, and other produce and prepared foods.

Ready to close out the season, after the November 21 Thanksgiving Stock-up Market, is LIFM Manager Kyrsten Williams.

“It’s true, this is our second-to-last-day of the season; and you’re right fruits and veggies still abound here,” confirmed LIFM Manager Kyrsten Williams to East Portland News.

“November 21st will be the perfect day for everyone to come and get their vegetables and fruits for their Holiday meals, and all of their different dishes that they will prepare.”

Showing their vacuum-packed salmon steaks, and prepared bagel and lox, from the Yakama Nation, are Muriel Winnier and Rayven Settler of Hooligan Harvest.

Some families make shopping at the LIFM a family event.

Overall, it was a very good season, opined Williams. “We made it through hot weather, and made through rainy and windy weather; so you gotta give credit to our farmers and vendors – and our shoppers – who’ve stuck with us are whole season!”

The best part of this farmer’s market, she said, “Is that this a place where people can come together and experience joy – at a place, and in a way, that’s pretty tough right now.

“Our farmers market is a positive, friendly place where you can get great food, see your neighbors, maybe hear some music, and nourish yourself for the week – and do it safely – making it a place of joy, these days!”

A quick survey indicated that all of their vendors are expected back when they open in June of 2022. “In fact, it looks like we’ll have several new ones, at the start of next season,” Williams said.
