After doing some Sunday shopping in outer East Portland on October 12, a man, his girlfriend, and their three children were strolling down SE Woodstock Boulevard, near SE 86th Avenue, just before 1:00 p.m. that afternoon.

“Three males approached them, and had a brief verbal exchange with the victim,” said Portland Police Bureau Public Information Officer Sgt. Pete Simpson. “The suspects then began attacking the victim, and ultimately he was stabbed in one of his legs.”

Emergency first responders tend to the victim, while police officers look for the suspects.

The suspects, described as three Hispanic or African American males, fled the scene in a dark-colored newer sedan, witnesses told officers.

“Medical personnel arrived, and found a 21-year-old male victim suffering from multiple injuries, none believed to be life-threatening,” Simpson said. “The victim was transported to a Portland hospital for treatment.”

The stabbing victim is prepared for transport.

Due to the victim’s previous gang affiliation, Simpson told East Portland News, and because of the description of the suspects, investigators from the PPB Gang Enforcement Team responded to conduct an investigation.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Gang Enforcement Team at (503) 823-4106.
