This week, we bring you two unsolved cases. The first took place near Mall 205; the other in Lents, at the MAX stop.
Case #1: ‘Wigged Robber’ rips off Dotty’s Deli
This casual gaming establishment was the scene of a late night stickup.
On Saturday, August 25, at 12:41 a.m., Portland Police Bureau (PPB) East Precinct officers responded to the report of a robbery at Dotty’s Deli at 10090 SE Washington Street.
Officers arrived at the Hazelwood Neighborhood establishment and learned that the suspect had entered the business and demanded money.
The 40-50 year old white male bandit implied that he had a gun; but he never flashed it.
“The suspect is described as 5’7″, 180 to 200 pounds, wearing a blue T-shirt, blue baseball hat with a yellow logo, black sunglasses, and a gray wig,” PPB Public Information Officer. Sgt. Pete Simpson reported.

Case #2: Headphone-loving gunman opens fire
Atop these steps, on the MAX platform, a man uses the cover of darkness to hide his unusual and seemingly pointless crime.
On September 13, 2012, at 9:31 p.m., police rolled to the Lents MAX Light Rail platform, elevated high atop SE Foster Road.
“The victim said he was seated on the west side of the platform, waiting for the MAX train, when the suspect rode up on a bicycle,” Simpson said.
“The victim told police that the suspect wanted to listen to the victim’s headphones. When the victim refused, the suspect pulled a handgun and fired shots towards the victim and into the surrounding area,” added Simpson.

“The victim grabbed onto the suspect and they struggled to the ground, where the victim suffered an arm injury, but not from gunfire.”
