Pleasant weather helped make the Sunday gathering held at the Green Lents Community Tool Library delightful, as people came and left the event they called “Earth Sunday” on April 18.

“Actually, today is the first of our monthly, Sunday ‘Garden Swaps’ we plan to run through October,” informed Green Lents Community Tool Library coordinator Kristin Berger.

Standing at the “Plant Swap” table is Green Lents Community Tool Library coordinator Kristin Berger.

“To these events, members of the community are welcome to bring their seeds and plant starts to swap with each other,” Berger explained to East Portland News.

“We also have free compost (bring your own buckets), until the supply runs out,” she pointed out. “We do this to give people the ‘garden aid’ that they’ve told us that they want and need.

Showing off raffle prizes is Green Lents Development Manager Dasha Foerster.

“Also today, we’re having an Earth Day raffle. This is to help generate some funds for Green Lents; and it features prizes donated by our sponsors, including Portland Nursery, and One Green World Nursery.”

Next Garden Swap is May 16
Come to their next Garden Swap outdoor event on Sunday, May 16 from 9:00 a.m. until noon.

Come and get it before it’s gone! Woodstock neighbors Corey Nowak and Jenelle Nowak get compost for their garden.

And, their Community Tool Library is open on Saturdays, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. and on Wednesday evenings, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

You’ll find it all at the Green Lents Community Tool Library, at 9215 SE Ramona Street, 97266. CLICK HERE to see their official webpage.
