Just north of SE Stark Street, along SE 139th Avenue, the sound of gunshots rang out, and Hazelwood neighbors called the 9-1-1 Center for help on the evening of February 18.

Portland Police Bureau (PPB) East Precinct, Gang Enforcement Team, and Gun Task Force officers pulled into the area at 6:56 p.m., and began an investigation.

Members of the Portland Police Bureau Gang Enforcement Team compare notes about the shooting incident.

“Officers responded to the area, and located a shooting scene,” said PPB Public Information Officer Sgt. Pete Simpson.

“We have not located any shooting victims,” an officer at the scene told East Portland News. Pointing up the street, he added, “But a home [on SE 139th Avenue] was hit by bullets.”

Officials say no one was injured during this incident.
