After meeting in ZOOM for two years during the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, members and guests of the Foster Area Business Association (FABA) gathered – in person – at the famous Bar Carlo, in the Foster-Powell neighborhood, on Thursday evening, March 24.
-2 Greeting guests is new FABA President Danielle Deschenes, Realtor with Living Room Realty.
“We have not had a live event for quite some time; and this is my first ‘live’ event as President,” said FABA President Danielle Deschenes, a real estate agent associated with Living Room Realty.
“It’s important for people to get together, face-to-face, so we can unite with each other, talk together, and meet in person to build, or in some cases rebuild, personal connections!” Deschenes told East Portland News.
Linda Austin and Jeff Forbes, both from Performance Works NW, sign in on the guest register.
The gathering that FABA hosted provided light snacks, including spicy guacamole and chips, oyster shooters, and a mixed green salad. The oyster shooters turned out to be the main attraction for guests.
“FABA is all about promoting our very local businesses, right here in our neighborhood,” acknowledged Deschenes.
Getting to know one another are Gabby Albano and Mckenzie Malone, both with Venture Portland; and Josie Hischar of Kuto App a local digital currency provider.
Although they weren’t ready to reveal public events for this summer, Deschenes hinted that there were some in the offing. “We’re looking forward to getting people back into our neighborhood stores, shopping with her businesses, and supporting our local companies.”
Shaking up another signature cocktail is Bar Carlo mixologist Alexa Domencen.
