In the Glenhaven Park parking lot, on the boundary between the Madison South and Roseway neighborhoods, an out-of-place-looking vehicle caught the attention of a Portland Police Bureau (PPB) East Precinct patrol sergeant on Wednesday, December 21, at 12:57 a.m.
That sergeant signaled for that car to stop, which it did near the intersection of NE Siskiyou Street and 81st Avenue.

“Upon further investigation, the sergeant learned the driver of the vehicle was operating it on a suspended license, and been driving without insurance,” a PPB spokesperson reported. “The sergeant gave the suspect a citation for Driving Uninsured and Driving While Suspended.”
During the resulting mandatory search of the car before it was towed, the sergeant discovered a total of eight (8) loaded handguns throughout the vehicle. In addition to the firearms, almost 200 rounds of ammunition and $1,240 in cash were found.
Why is there no booking photo of this man, 39-year-old Marquis Antoine Hammond, a convicted felon caught with eight guns? CLICK HERE to learn why you’re not allowed to see his image.
39-year-old Marquis Antoine Hammond was arrested and booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center at 2:57 a.m. on December 21 on eight (8) counts of Felon in Possession of a Firearm – each one a Class C Felony – along with his traffic citations.
However, Hammond was only briefly in custody; he was released later that day. Release Reason: Made Bail.
