While not quite as a grand an event like the David Douglas High School Holiday Bazaar that’s been running for a dozen years, the school’s 2nd Annual Spring Craft Fair provided a venue for 23 artisans, and a place for community folks to gather.

“All proceeds go to benefit the senior scholarship fund,” explained Kari Deardorff, President of the David Douglas High School Parent Teacher Student Association, when we visited the event, held on April 11. “We’re trying to find new ways to help supplement the scholarship program, to make sure that it stays alive.”

Last year, Deardorff said, the PTSA granted three scholarships, this year; they hope to provide six David Douglas High grads with college money.
