If you let the rain scare you away from it … take a look, and you might be surprised to see just how many classy rides did show up at the Foster Road Cruise-in …
The sight of all these gleaming classic vehicles stopped many who happened to be driving by. It was the 2012 Foster Road Cruise In.

Most classic and specialty vehicle owners just won’t take their rigs out of the garage, if they see dark clouds that threaten rain.
But on June 30, owners of more than 65 classic cars braved the weather and attended the Foster Road Cruise-in, held at the Junior Achievement campus at 7830 SE Foster Road, and along temporarily-closed SE 78th Avenue.

“Why do this? I love cars!” organizer Ted Finlay said. “We all love cars. And, we all like to give to the community by participating – it makes us feel good. It’s just a lot of fun.”
Finlay, and members of the Cinema Classics Car Club, put on this outer East Portland show, sponsored by the Foster Road Business Association (FABA).
After a few sprinkles of rain during the Cruise-In, Chad Goodwin simply repolished his ‘67 RS SS Chevy Camaro pace car.
“The Cruise-In helps people pay attention to Foster Road,” smiled FABA’s secretary/treasurer, Nancy Chapin of TSG. “We want our neighbors to look toward shopping here.”
