An annual event to which members of the East Portland Chamber of Commerce (EPCC) look forward is the Golf Tournament. The balmy, beautiful weather of June 17 made the day at Colwood National Golf Course ideal for the event.
A total of 48 players – both chamber members and guests – took to the fairways and greens to play 18 holes of golf. And, throughout the late morning and the afternoon, another dozen EPCC Ambassadors made ready Colwood’s banquet room – loading the front tables with lots of donated merchandise to be raffled off.
Adam Lee, Jillian Smith, CJ Anderson and Tyler Swanberg of Team Adventist Health pause for a foursome photo during their game.
David Dixon from Classique Floors prepares to drive another ball down the fairway.
These four gentlemen – who say they’d rather golf than be at work on this beautiful day – are Steve Renner of Gresham Ford, Elliot West from West Coast Mortgage Group, Richard Kiely of Home Run Graphics, and Chuck Preisch.
“I think this is our sixth time here,” said the event’s Chair, EPCC Past President Rich Sorem of Rose City Associates. “This year, were fortunate enough to have Smitty’s DOT Golf as a main sponsor, along with many other fine organizations.”
Holding the event is important, Sorem explained, “Because it lets people network in a comfortable, fun atmosphere. And, it’s a way to ‘let off some steam’ and have a good time with old friends, and new ones.”
The 2011 EPCC Golf Tournament was sponsored by Smitty’s DOT Golf, Met Life Auto & Home (who sponsored the luncheon), Rose City Associates, Adventist Health (sponsor of the putting green contest), Warren Allen LLP, Riverview Community Bank, Snow Cap Community Charities, Kevin Minkoff CPA, EastPortlandNews.com, Spool Video, Six States Distributors, and the American Cancer Society.
