When gunshots rang out the evening of March 4 along SE 136th Avenue, near a complex of duplexes, a block north of SE Powell Boulevard, a man grabbed his buttocks and cried out in pain that he’d been shot.
Portland Police Bureau (PPB) officers were dispatched at 8:09 p.m., closed down SE 136th Avenue between Division Street and Powell Boulevard, and began an investigation.
The wounded man is about to be taken by ambulance to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment.
“Officers located a male adult with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the buttocks,” confirmed PPB Public Information Officer Lt. Tina Jones. “He was transported to an area hospital; his condition is unknown at this time.”
Evidence of gunfire was located near where the wounded man was found by members of the PPB’s Gun Violence Reduction Team, who assisted with the investigation.
Into the evening, the investigation into this – the most recent outer East Portland shooting – continues.
