Bandit robs Parkrose’s Ace Tavern – again

Police say they have little go to on. If you saw something there on Tuesday, you could help put a gun-toting stick-up man behind bars …

The Ace Tavern is known as a friendly neighborhood establishment.

Over the years, we’ve joined friends from time to time at the Ace Tavern, a friendly neighborhood bar at 8868 Northeast Sandy Boulevard at NE Prescott Street.

Patrons and the establishment’s staff were put on edge when they were robbed by a knife-wielding thug back on July 22, 2008.

Perhaps Tuesday is an unlucky day of the week at the Ace – because it was on Tuesday February 22, approximately 6:08 p.m., that officers were again called there – again, on the report of an armed robbery.

“Officers received information that the suspect entered the bar armed with a handgun and demanded money,” Portland Police Bureau Public Information Officer Sgt. Peter Simpson reported.

If you saw a man running from The Ace – call the police and report it!

“Officers arrived in the area and learned that the suspect fled the area on foot,” added Simpson. “Officers used a K-9 Unit to search the neighborhood but did not locate the suspect.”
The suspect is described as a white male in his 40s, 5’11”, medium build, wearing dark clothing and armed with a handgun. “Anyone with information about this robbery is urged to call the Portland Police, at (503) 823-3333,” Simpson concluded.
