Throughout the summer, the “Arleta Triangle” – a community space in the northeast corner of Woodstock Boulevard and SE 72nd Avenue in the Mt. Scott-Arleta neighborhood – is again hosting an artisan’s marketplace on the second weekend of August.
The new organizers of this new effort christened it the Arleta Triangle Arts and Crafts Kaleidoscope, as they carry on hosting a marketplace for artisans whose products don’t “fit” in farmers markets or other places.
Market Manager Isaac Gervais, of The Native Gift, shows one of his unique wooden candle holders.
“Last year, leather-crafter Thomas Miller started what he called the Arleta Triangle Makers Market in this space – but this year, he decided to focus his efforts on other activities,” explained the current Market Manager, Isaac Gervais.

“Because I’m a Native American crafter with the Penobscot tribe – and because I live maybe ten blocks away from here – I wanted to continue having an art fair at this location. And so, the Arleta Triangle Arts and Crafts Kaleidoscope came to be.”
At their booth, Gervais was selling crafts from his company, The Native Gift, as well as items from makers in the Navajo, Zuni, and Santa Domingo tribes.
Amy Martin, of Bloom Into, shows one of the works she made with hand-pressed flowers in a gold frame.
“This season, you’ll find all kinds of things, ranging from clothing to jewelry, to household décor, and also many practical items, as well,” Gervais said.
“We’re doing this on the second weekend of each month through September, on both Saturdays and Sundays – so, stop by and visit the Arleta Triangle Arts and Crafts Kaleidoscope,” concluded Gervais
