Traffic accidents happen. But, they seem to happen more often to tipsy drivers.

Such was the case, officials say, on March 23.

On this sunny Saturday afternoon, a vehicle plowed into the driver’s side of a Toyota Corolla in the intersection of SE 92nd Avenue and SE Holgate Boulevard in the Lents Neighborhood.

Looking at the resulting damage, the impact in this accident must have been horrific.

Portland Fire & Rescue came to give immediate aid to the stunned, injured driver in the Toyota, and helped package the victim for transport to a local hospital.

Obviously missing from the scene was the vehicle that had smashed into the Toyota. But witnesses provided a good enough description of the car, adding that it had headed southbound on SE 92nd Avenue.

PPB District officers give a report to Traffic Division officers who’ve come to investigate the wreck.

At 4:42 p.m. Portland Police Bureau (PPB) East Precinct District Officers located the vehicle – and, what cops said they believed to be an inebriated driver – on SE 64th Avenue, a block south of SE Flavel Street, in the Brentwood-Darlington neighborhood.

Police accuse this woman, 31 year old Sara Nicole Isca, of DUII and Felony Hit and Run.

“Arrested was 31 year old Sara Nicole Isca,” PPB Public Information Officer Sgt. Pete Simpson later told East Portland News.

“Isca was arrested for DUII, Felony Hit and Run, Reckless Driving, and Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree,” Simpson said.

At 6:51 p.m., Isca was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center. She was released later that evening.
